The Whitstable Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1919 as an organisation to represent businesses in the town. Like many voluntary led organisations it’s had it’s ups and downs, but none the less, has survived for nearly 100 years, and as such is one of the oldest such groups in the Country.
We are a non-political organisations committed to working with our members to improve the local economy and to create a thriving business community.
We are a recognised consulting group by Canterbury City Council and are frequently asked for our views on local issues by the local press. Members of our board regularly attend WAMP and other council meetings to express our views on local issues.
We have also instigated or been part of several groups formed to campaign on various community issues varying from Harbour Re-Development, Estuary View Retail Development, The Post Office, Parking and Whitstable Museum.
We hold a minimum of 4 Business, Networking and Social Meetings each year with the opportunity to meet and exchange news and views with fellow business people. Join us and become part of our growing business community
